A mineralogical description is given for two minettes, one from Plan d'Albard (Val d'Aoste, Italy) is Oligocene ; the other one, from Saint-Hélier (Jersey, Channel Islands), is Paleozoic. Their mineralogical compositions are similar, with clinopyroxene, altered olivine, trioctahedral micas, arfvedsonite and K-feldspar. Differences imply mostly accessory minerals : acmite and Mn-rich ilmenite in the Saint-Hélier minette ; pseudobrookite, rutile, sphene, Zn-rich and Zn-poor chromites in the Plan d'Albard minette. These minettes are similar to lamproites by their mineralogical and chemical compositions.
