In the present review, we propose a systematization of previous results of the literature and a quest for simple parameters permitting to assess, a priori, the diffusivity of any species in glasses and silicate melts. Measurements of tracer diffusivity are the most numerous data, especially for Na and He in the system Na2O :SiO2. The negative correlation between Na2O content and the activation energy for diffusion, exhibits a significant scatter among the results of various authors, in the case of sodium. This may probably reflect exsolution phenomena. For He, this latter effect has been demonstrated, and when following specific procedures, an increase of activation energy with Na2O content is observed, the opposite of what is observed for...
