Les sens sociaux : coordination de l'attention et interaction sociale

The social sense(s) : coordination of attention and social interaction. This article highlights the convergence between work on social attention in cognitive ethology and developmental psychology. The two approaches share an emphasis on the connection between the coordination of attention and the structure of social interaction. However, ethologists and psychologists diverge when they examine the nature of social skills. While ethologists view social information processing in the framework of goal directed activity (to acquire rank, to eliminate a rival, to make an ally), psychologists view this process as independent of the emergence of social groups.Cet article met en évidence les convergences dans les travaux sur l'attention sociale entre éthologie cognitive et psychologie du développement. Les deux approches soulignent le lien entre coordination de l'attention et structure de l'interaction sociale. Cependant, éthologues et psychologues divergent lorsqu'ils examinent la nature des aptitudes sociales. Alors que les éthologues conçoivent le traitement de l'information sociale dans le cadre d'une activité finalisée (acquérir un rang, éliminer un rival, se faire un allié), les psychologues le conçoivent en dehors de considérations sur la formation des groupes sociaux.Conein Bernard.
