According to new lithological studies and the sampling of about twenty exposures of the Senonian stratotypic area, several biozo-nations (benthic foraminifera, ostracoda, calcareous nannoplancton) of the type succession have been erected and compared to the traditional macrofaunal zones. The Echinoids of the Turonian/Senonian boundary, while giving valuable indications on the validity of some Micraster taxa, state precisely the first apparition of M. decipiens and the positioning of the Turonian/Senonian boundary. The extinction of Gavelinella vombensis at the Coniacian/Santonian boundary points out also the correlation between the different biostratigraphical schemes commonly used in France and in the British Isles. Moreover the apparitio...
