Découverte de Gastéropodes dans le gisement de bauxite d'Anthimos (deuxième horizon), zone du Parnasse (Grèce)

Discovery of numerous Gastropods in the bauxitic layer and in one interbedded bauxitic limestone, belonging to the genera : Viviparus, Neritina, Valvata and Procerithium. Seven species, including two new species, are identified and described. Some of them exist in the Western Europe purbeckian facies, that is equivalent to the age of the second horizon of the bauxite (considered as the Uppermost Jurassic) in the Parnassus zone. The paleoecological conclusions, given by Mollusks, agree with the palaeogeographical and palaeosedimentological reconstruction of the bauxite deposition : sedimentation of fine aluminous material coming from the Pelagonian zone, situated at the North-East, in a previously karsti-fied lagoon. This karst was submerged, at the beginning of the transgression, by brackish waters where marine and freshwater influences could be alternatively predominant.Découverte d'un nombre important de Gastéropodes, dans la bauxite et dans un calcaire bauxitique interstratifié au sein du minerai, appartenant aux genres Viviparus, Neriîina, Valvata et Procerithium. Sept espèces dont deux nouvelles ont pu être déterminées et décrites. Certaines d'entre elles existent dans le Purbec-kien d'Europe occidentale, ce qui correspond à l'âge du deuxième horizon de bauxite (attribué au Jurassique terminal) dans la zone du Parnasse. Les indications paléoécologiques sont en accord avec la reconstitution paléogéographique et paléosédimentologique du dépôt de la bauxite : sédimentation de produits alumineux fins, en provenance de la zone pélagonienne au Nord-Est, dans un ancien lagon karstifié recouvert, en début de transgression, par un milieu lagunaire où l'influence relative des eaux douces et marines a pu varier.Combes Pierre-jean, Mongin Denise.
