The cranial anatomy of European Oligocene Cricetids was known only from a part of skull. Here are described about ten skulls of the genera Eucricetodon and Pseudocricetodon from the middle Oligocene localities of Quercy : Mas de Got and Itardies. They show some primitive features (i.e. infraorbital foramina widely open, anterior zygomatic ramus slightly ascending) but strongly differ by several characters (size, shape of the infra-orbital foramina, of the palate, and of the zygomatic arch). These features give evidence on the separation into two lineages, previously distinguished on the basis of the dental morphology.
