This article attempts to describe the symbolism of the taking photographs by means of smartphones during silent film concerts – screenings of silent movies accompanied with music performed in live. It evaluates the contribution of this practice in the process of heritagization of silent repertoire movies. This work considers the ordinary spectators of silent movie concerts as a category of legitimate actors in the process of patrimonialization of films since they actively contribute to the reevaluation of the value of these objects during and after the new exploitation in live.
