Age anté-Viséen de la phase varisque paroxysmale dans les nappes ghomarides du Rit interne (Maroc) / Pre-Visean age of the main Variscan folding in the Ghomarides nappes, Inner Rif, Morocco

Structural and mineralogical observations in the Ghomaride sheets of the Rif (Morocco) demonstrates the existence of an angular unconformity between a Visean V₃b conglomerate and an Ordovician-Silurian-Devonian folded and metamorphosed serie underneath. This is the signature of the «Breton phase » illustrated for the first time in the Rif. This post-Early Famennian, pre-Visean phase represents the major folding event of the Variscan orogeny in this area.Des observations structurales et minéralogiques (cristallinité de l'illite) dans les nappes ghomarides du Rif permettent de mettre en évidence la discordance d'un conglomérat viséen V₃b sur une série plissée et métamorphisée ordovico-siluro-dévonienne. C'est la phase tectonique bretonne, démontrée pour la première fois dans le Rif, où elle apparaît comme la phase varisque paroxysmale.Chaloüan Ahmed, Michard André.
