Recent excavations conducted in Uchi Maius by a Tunisian-Italian team have delivered a large amount of Latin inscriptions that constitutes a major contribution both to the knowledge of the site, and to the social history and institutional organization of the entire territory of the wide colony of Carthage, the pertica Carthaginiensium. It is not surprising therefore that, during these last years and in parallel with new researches, erudite studies centred on the institutional history of the city as well as on that of its urbanism have been multiplied.
