The paper aims to assess the metaethical relevance of the conception of normativity developed by Wittgenstein in the Philosophical Investigations. Starting from the strong convergence that exists at the time of the Tractatus between Wittgenstein's views on the functioning of rules and his conception of ethics, the paper sets out from the hypothesis that the new conception of normativity presented in the Investigations, and intended to resolve the problems raised by the Tractatus, also leads to a more adequate explanation of moral action and motivation. Some ideas of John Rawls are put to use to show that this explanation implies neither moral conservatism nor an appeal to a point of view external to social practices.Le but de cet article es...
