A laboratory-based research was conducted to study Locke's (1968) goal setting theory. The researcher investigates the effect of goal setting towards typing performance, which is defined in terms of completion time, and typing error. Thirty-one subjects took part in the experiment. Research findings showed that typing time decrease when goal is moderately set compared to no goal. However, goal setting has negative effect on typing quality. The study concluded that planning, consideration and assessment is needed before implementing this motivation program
