Penatalaksanaan Fisioterapi Infra Red, Tens dan Terapi Latihan Pada Kasus Osteoarthritis Genu Bilateral di RSUD dr. Moewardi Surakarta

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a long-term chronic disease characterized by thinning of cartilage in the joint, resulting in friction between bones. Friction between bones can cause pain, joint stiffness and movement disorders. Joints that are often affected by osteoarthritis, namely the knee. Osteoarthritis is caused by several factors, including aging, obesity, lack of exercise, genetic predisposition, bone density, injury due to work, trauma, and gender. Objective: To determine the benefits of infra red and TENS can reduce pain in cases of bilateral genital osteoarthritis. Knowing the benefits of open kinetic chain can increase LGS in the knee in cases of bilateral genital osteoarthritis. Knowing the benefits of close kinetic chain can increase the strength of the quadriceps muscle in cases of bilateral genital osteoarthritis. Results: After 4 times of therapy, the results showed a decrease in pain with a scale of Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Increased muscle strength with Manual Muscle Testing (MMT), and Increased Joint Motion Scope (LGS) with Goniometer. Conclusion: The provision of physiotherapy interventions in the form of IR, TENS, and therapy of close kinetic chain and open kinetic chain exercises showed the results of decreased pain, increased muscle strength, and increased joint motion range
