PERAN SISWA DALAM PENCEGAHAN PERILAKU MEROKOK PADA SEKOLAH MENENGAH PERTAMA DI KECAMATAN PARE KABUPATEN KEDIRI

Smoking endangers health, and the longer an individual smokes, the more severe the repercussions. Tobacco’s related diseases are the most possible prevented disease. Student’s as school citizen should have their role to promote health in school. It is important because for teenager at this age peer group has a bigger influence than parents or teacher. The main purpose of this research was to know about student’s role to prevent smoking behavior at junior high school in Pare District Kediri Regency. This research was qualitative study. The research conducted at 5 junior high school in Pare District, that is SMPN 2 Pare, MTs Negeri Model dan SMP Dharma Wanita, SMPN 3 Pare, SMPN 1 Pare. Data collecting done by interview and FGD. The informan of the research was UKS teacher,and students. The result showed that student’s role was to remind their friend about cigarette’s health effect, and report to teacher or parent and in two junior high school there are peer educator program. This role can be improved by forming peer educator and execute cigarette’s theme event
