Introduction: The metabolic syndrome consists of a constellation of metabolic abnormalities, such as central obesity, hypertriglyceridemia, low levels of HDL cholesterol, hyperglycemia, and hypertension. Those components are often found in diabetic patients. The purpose of this study was to analyze the clinical and laboratorical profile of metabolic syndrome in type 2 diabetic patients at Endocrinology Outpatient Ward in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital, Surabaya.
