Background: Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) is one of the leading cause of Hospital-Acquired Pneumonia (HAP) with hight mortality rate. The objective of this study was to know the association between duration of mechanical ventilation and the diagnosis of VAP in ICU patients as one of the risk factor in developing VAP. Method: This retrospective cross-sectional study involved 34 patients who had been attached to mechanical ventilator during January to December 2016. The sample numbers that fulfilled the inclusive criteria and become chosen subjects for this research were 30 patients. The others were excluded due to incomplete medical records.
