The world’s malaria cases are more than 1 million people every year. The spread of resistance to some antimalarial drugs had caused many problems. The discovery of new antimalarial drugs to be one of the main priorities, especially from the natural origin. One of the plants that have antimalarial activity is Helianthus annuus L. from Asteracea family. The research by Kusumaningrum (2016), that chloroform extract of H. annuus leaf has IC50 value of 0,037 μg/mL that categorized as strong active antimalarial and the chloroform extract positively contains terpenoid subtances.
