Patient awareness of mental health services in primary healthcare

Objective: To evaluate patients' opinions on mental health services in primary care. Tasks: 1. To evaluate patients' opinions on mental health services in primary care. 2. To compare opinions of patients of private and public institutions on mental health services as well as their awareness of such services. Methods: The research was done in November - December 2018. An anonymous survey involved 156 randomly selected patiens over the age of 18 who had visited general practitioners. The selected patients were divided into two groups based on type of healthcare institution: patients registered at a public primary healthcare institition / a private primary healthcare institution. Statistical data analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel 2016 and IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0 software package. Chi square criteria was used for the assesment of the statistical relationships and Student's t-test was used for the comparison of two means.
