This study aimed to quantify the healing following vertical augmentation of allogenic bone blocks with/without recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) on rabbit calvaria. Experiments were performed using allogenic bone blocks which were grafted bilaterally with or without rhBMP-2 on 20 rabbit calvaria, and these animals were divided to four groups according to the use of rhBMP-2 and healing periods (2 and 8 weeks; n = 10 in each group).
