BACKGROUND: The aim was to evaluate the effect of diquafosol on tear film parameters and corneal aberrations after cataract surgery. METHODS: This retrospective, comparative, observational case series included patients who underwent cataract surgery with or without peri-operative use of diquafosol three per cent ophthalmic solution. Patients in group I (31 eyes) were treated with diquafosol three per cent ophthalmic solution six times a day from one week before surgery to three months after surgery. Patients in group II (33 eyes) underwent cataract surgery without being administered diquafosol.
