Oral precancerous lesions have been considered as a target tissue for the early detection and chemoprevention study. The risk of malignant transformation in oral premalignant lesions should be accurately evaluated and properly treated to prevent from cancer development. Accordingly, the risk assessment and monitoring of chemoprevention effect are critically important to reduce cancer incidence.
