Objective : To evaluate the effect of music in pain Methods : The subjects were 46 patients with posterior neck pain or low back pain. They were randomly assigned to a control (conventional therapy) of a experimental (conventional therapy plus music therapy) group. Music therapy was performed during admission. The experimental group listened preferred style of music with physical therapy. Pain intensity and psychological status were evaluated by VAS, BDI, SCL-90-R at admission and at discharge. Result : Pain intensity of music therapy group was decreased. Depression, somatization and anxiety of music therapy group were significantly improved compared with that of control group (p<0.05).
