In this study, the in vitro effect of hyperglycemia on hypoxia-reoxygenation and remifentanil-preconditioning induced cardioprotection in isolated neonatal rat ventricular myocytes (NRVMs) was evaluated, in particular, regarding to apoptotic signaling pathways and Ca2+ homeostasis.
