Roentgenocephalometric studies on a guide for restoration of the occlusad plane

의학과/석사[한글] [영문] Restoration of the physiological occlusal plane is an important factor in full denture construction for edentulous patients. Several methods have been studied and generalized for use on individuals to establish a physio-functional occlusal plane, but there few studies, that take account of individual haraeceristics of occlusal planes in different patients. The author attempted to investigate the value of the angles which are formed by Camper's line and four other skull reference lines as a guide for restoration of the occlusal plane in Korean adolescences. The subjects consisted of 59 males and 41 females aged 17 to 20 years with relatively normal occlusion and acceptable profile. Four skull reference lines and Camper's line were drawn on the tracings of all cephalograms and four angles were measured and analyzed by multiple regression method. The following conclusions were drawn. 1) The mean of the angle formed by Camper's line and the occlusal plane measured 7.74˚ to the back. 2) When the angles formed by Camper's line and occlusal plane opened backward, the degree of the angles formed by Camper's line and the Nasion-Sella line and the palatal plane increased in accordance with the increase of the angles formed by Camper's line and the Frankfort horizontal plane decreased. 3) The angle formed by Camper's line and the Palatal plane was most closely related to the angle formed by Camper's line and the occlusal plane and a positive corelation existed when the angles opened backward. 4) The angle formed by Camper's line and palatal plane is valuable as a guide for restoration of the occlusal plane in full denture construction for edentulous patients.restrictio
