Surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (SELDI-TOF-MS) is one of thecurrently used techniques to identify biomarkers for cancers. This study was planned to establish a system to accurately distinguish gastric cancer patients by using SELDI-TOF-MS. A total of 100 serum samples obtained from 60 individuals with gastric cancer and 40 healthy individuals were screened. Protein expression profiles were expressed on CM10 ProteinChip arrays and analyzed. Peak intensities were analyzed with the Biomarker Wizard software to identify peaks showing significantly different intensities between normal and cancer groups.
