[[abstract]]This paper reports a survey research on the Tamkang English Reading Improvement Project for English majors for the spring semester, 2001. The main goal of the reading project was to help students learn to read, to become a more effective and efficient readers and then ultimately arrive at a command of the English language that it may be used as a tool to learn other sUbjects. In addition to the text From Culture to Culture, some other reading materials were added. The added materials were categorized into six content areas.
