Contributions of Pnaic 2014 in Mathematical practices of a group of Literacy Teachers

The following master’s thesis presents the results of a qualitative study, developed within the Postgraduate Program in Mathematics Education from the Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), in the Teaching and Learning Processes on Mathematics Education line of research. The general objective of this study was to identify how a group of polyvalent teachers assimilate the PNAIC’s contributions into their teaching practices, concerning mathematics education in the initial years and having the mathematical alphabetization as the central thematic. The participants of this research are a group of polyvalent teachers working in a public school from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and that are also participants of a project that develops the continued training of these professionals. We present the characteristics of this training project – that was applied for teachers working with alphabetization cycles from all over the country – specifically in the year of 2014, and we also describe how this training program took place within the Federal University of Pelotas, the training center for the participants of this research. In this work we also present a discussion about training processes and the knowledge required for teaching. The data collection was performed through questionnaires and the data analysis was via Content Analysis. As the main results, we can point out that the PNAIC was an important space for the mobilization of the teaching knowledge and that such project influenced the practices of the participants, since the teachers understand that the main contributions of the program into their practices were the use of games and concrete material and also the use of ludic activities, that is, within the field of curricular knowledge, not highlighting significant contributions concerning these teacher’s knowledge of mathematical contents.Sem bolsaA presente dissertação apresenta os resultados de um estudo qualitativo, desenvolvido no âmbito do Programa de Pós Graduação em Educação Matemática da Universidade Federal de Pelotas (UFPel), na linha de pesquisa Processos de ensino e aprendizagem em Educação Matemática. O estudo teve por objetivo geral identificar como um grupo de professoras polivalentes percebem as contribuições do PNAIC em suas práticas e saberes docentes, no que se refere ao ensino de Matemática nos anos iniciais, cujo tema central foi a alfabetização Matemática. Os sujeitos da pesquisa compõem um grupo de professoras polivalentes de uma escola pública da rede estadual, participantes do citado projeto de formação continuada. São apresentadas as características desse programa de formação continuada proposto para professoras do ciclo de alfabetização de todo país, especificamente no ano de 2014, e descrita como essa formação ocorreu no âmbito da Universidade Federal de Pelotas, núcleo de formação dos sujeitos da pesquisa. Apresenta-se também uma discussão sobre a formação e os saberes necessários à prática docente. A coleta dos dados foi realizada através de questionários e a análise dos dados se deu por meio da Análise de Conteúdo. Como principais resultados pode-se indicar que o PNAIC foi um importante espaço de mobilização de saberes docentes que refletiram nas práticas do grupo pesquisado, sendo que as professoras percebem como principais contribuições do programa às suas práticas a utilização de jogos e materiais concretos e a exploração de atividades lúdicas, ou seja, no campo dos saberes curriculares, não sendo evidenciadas contribuições significativas em relação aos saberes de conteúdo matemático das professoras
