The Making of Military and Political Strategy of Australia in the First Half of the 1930s

In the article, the author examines relations between Australia and Great Britain in the first half of the 1930s. The main issue is the ability to independently form and strengthen the forces of a dominion for protection in a possible war against Japan. The author concludes that the position of England hampered the development of the military-political power of Australia, and also led to the weakness of dominion by the beginning of the Second World War.В статье автор рассматривает отношения Австралии и Великобритании в первой половине 1930х гг. Главный вопрос – возможность самостоятельно формировать и усиливать войска доминиона для защиты в возможной войне против Японии. Автор делает вывод о том, что позиция Англии тормозила развитие военно-политической мощи Австралии, а также повлекло за собой слабость доминиона к началу Второй мировой войны
