La superfamilia Platanistoidea (Cetacea, Odontoceti) comprende un clado de delfines que se originó en el Oligoceno tardío y que incluye un gran número de especies fósiles, pero con un solo representante actual, el delfín de río Platanista gangetica (Delfín de Ganges). El registro fósil indicaría que el Mioceno temprano fue el momento de mayor diversidad para este grupo. Sin embargo, aún no hay consenso en cuanto a las familias y especies que se incluyen en la misma, ni sobre la historia evolutiva del grupo.
