2018 7th International Congress on Advanced Applied Informatics (IIAI-AAI), 8-13 July 2018, Yonago, Tottori, Japan.Over the decades, the Open Access movement has evolved with the support by academic communities. Following this movement, Kyoto University adopted the Kyoto University Open Access policy in 2015 and has launched the Open Access promotion project in 2016. The project aims to promote open access to scholarly articles as well as open access to rare materials (e.g., manuscripts). In this paper, we summarize our systems to advance open access, focusing on our institutional repository for scholarly articles as well as our digital archive system for rare materials
