The central question of this investigation is if both female and male candidates for Mexico City’s city halls proposed a gender agenda on their campaigns. To achieve this, an ethnographical work was made during the 2017-2018 electoral process; political parties’ election platforms were revised; the campaign’s proposals concerned with gender issues and women − which were included within the initiative Voto Informado(Informed Vote) − were identified and, also, questionnaires were applied to candidates. Only 7% of the political programs mention something related with the words “gender” or “women”.
