El maestro Guillermo Inglés y la escultura gótica en Huesca

The relationship with Guillermo Inglés, author of the western cover of the Huesca cathedral, of the images of Santa Águeda and of Nuestra Señora del Monte conserved in the hermitage of the Mártires of the city of Huesca, allows us to deepen our knowledge of the artistic personality of this master and insist on the remarkable influence he exerted in Hispanic Gothic sculpture. In addition, the study of those images corroborates the importance of the capital of the Alto Aragón during the second quarter of the 14th century as an attractive artistic centre, with the noteworthy activity of sculptors’ workshops, enriched by the presence of foreign masters of diverse provenance.— La relación con Guillermo Inglés, autor de la portada occidental de la catedral oscense, de las imágenes de Santa Águeda y Nuestra Señora del Monte conservadas en la ermita de las Mártires de la ciudad de Huesca, nos permite profundizar en el conocimiento de la personalidad artística de ese maestro e insistir en la notable influencia que ejerció en la escultura gótica hispánica.
