Abstract The article analyzes the Operation Lifeline in Sudan from the theory of Zones of Peace within the scope of humanitarian operations, and the identification of relevant elements of international humanitarian law applicable to this situation. The objective is to identify the limits of International Humanitarian Law for the protection of special areas in the context of a non-international armed conflict, as well as the tools available to respond to the problem whitin these limits. An analysis was made of the history of Sudan and the context of armed conflict in which the Operation was developed.
