To achieve the climate goals, the transport sector has to considerably reduce the carbon dioxide emissions. This also requires the assessment of alternative drivetrains for the energy intensive application of long-haul transportation. In this thesis, three currently discussed electrification concepts for long-haul transportation are considered, which potentially can replace the fossil powered drivetrains: Battery electric, overhead catenary and fuel cell electric trucks. To investigate the energy consumption of these alternative trucks and of the conventional trucks, the vehicle simulation models are derived in this thesis.
