AN ANALYSIS OF CHARACTER BUILDING TOWARD EDUCATION IN FROZEN MOVIE

The aims of this research was to analyze the character education values/character building values in Frozen movie and to know how those values are connected to Curriculm 2013 (K13). Frozen movie is an animation movie produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The screenplay written by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck. The design was descriptive qualitative research. The object were Frozen movie transcript. The instrument was checklist. The technique of analyzing the data including reading, identifying, classifying, analyzing, making concluding. The researcher analyzed the character building values of the Frozen movie based on Syarbini. The results of the research showed that there were sixteen good character building values was found in the movie, they were: hard working, responsibility, creative, curiosity, independent, environmental care, love peace, sociality, friendly/communicative, nationalism, patriotism, honesty, tolerance, discipline, democratic and appreciating achievements. On the other hand, 2 educational values were not found in this movie. They were; religious and love to read. The researcher hopes that the education practititioner can teach character building. For the parents this thesis can be used as a guide to shaping good character for children
