KOMUNIKASI ANTARBUDAYA MAHASISWA ASAL JABODETABEK DENGAN MAHASISWA ASLI MALANG DALAM PROSES ADAPTASI (Studi Pada Mahasiswa Ilmu Komunikasi Angkatan 2014 Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang)

This research is backed by the view of researchers about intercultural communication that often occurs in the campus area. Especially when interacting with original students of Malang. In intercultural communication There is always an adaptation process. It is also experienced by students from Jabodetabek who undergo lectures at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Researchers want to know how intercultural communication of students from Jabodetabek with original students in the process of adaptation. In this research researchers used intercultural communication approaches especially in the adaptation process. This method of study uses a qualitative research approach with descriptive type. Five students from Jabodetabek are selected to be subject to research based on purposive sampling technique. The data obtained comes from interviews, observations and documentation. Data analysis techniques Use the intractive models of Miles and Huberman with the validity test using data source triangulation. Researchers focused on research based on phases in the adaptation process including the honeymoon phase, the frustrating phase, the recovery phase, and the resolution phase. So the result of this study is that the entire subject passed into the four adaptation process in different ways but with the same purpose.
