Hemostasis of the radial artery after transradial coronary angiography can be achieved either mechanically, with the use of bracelet-like devices which are widely used due to their convenience and low cost, or manually. Until now, there had been only scarce data comparing these two hemostatic methods. The aim of this study was to compare manual versus mechanical compression of the radial artery after transradial coronary angiography regarding radial artery occlusion (RAO), access-site bleeding complications, and duration of hemostasis.
