Efficient cathode electrode materials suitable for NN reductionThe products of the electrochemical reduction of nitrate (ERN) are critically dependent on the nature of the electrode material, pH of the media and applied potential as well as the nature of supporting electrolyte. Cu-Sn alloys are promising electrode materials that up to now have not been completely investigated. For this reason, Cu and Cu-Sn cathodic materials were prepared and tested for nitrate reduction. The cyclic voltammetry studies allow establishing the specific parameters concerning the electrodeposition of the individual metals and alloy respectively.
