A view of the XXI century university dialectics of the university goals in a changing era

I attempt to justify the need that the changes that the University necessarily should undergo be the consequence of a deep anaJysis of the political, economical, social, cultural and educative conditions that have conformed a determined historical rcality, above ali, in order to determine to what extent they can condition the future (rationalization of planification). In particular, I point out the review of the proper characteritics of the process of institutional change in the educative field trying to analyse tbe factors determining the strong inertia of «resistance to change» of the University.El autor intenta justificar la necesidad de que los cambios que necesariamente deba sufrir la Universidad sean consecuencia de un análisis profundo de las condiciones políticas, económicas, sociales, culturales y educativas que han conformado una identidad histórica determinada, sobre todo, para determinar qué medida pueden condicionar el futuro (racionalización de la planificación). En particular, señala la revisión de las características propias del proceso de cambio institucional en el campo educativo tratando de analizar los factores que determinan la fuerte inercia de la "resistencia al cambio" de la Universidad
