Percepción visual, memoria de trabajo y fluidez lectora en 1º de Primaria: un estudio correlacional

The present research study aims to find the relationship that exists between visual perception, working memory and reading fluency in the reading process of the students of 1st year of Primary Education. The research was carried out in a sample of 30 subjects from the first year of primary education at the "El Sitjar" educational center in the town of Linyola, Lleida. To measure the relationship between the variables, the visual-motor speed subtest of the Frostig-DTVP-2 Visual Perception Evaluation Method was first subministered (Hammill, Pearson, and Voress, 1995). Next, the working memory was assessed by means of the digit test of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for children -Wisc V (Wechsler, 2015). Finally, in order to assess reading fluency, the reading subtest of the Literacy Analysis Test- T.A.L.E- was subministered (Toro y Cervera, 2014). The results obtained in the Pearson correlation between the variables were found in inverse relationships between reading fluency and working memory, and between visual perception and reading fluency. Regarding the relationship between visual perception and working memory, the relationship is direct and significant, which leads to the conclusion that there is a relationship between neuropsychological substrates in the reading process. Likewise, the results are based on a review of the scientific literature of theoretical-practical programs and studies in relation to the variables investigated. Finally, a program of neuropsychological intervention is proposed to strengthen the acquisition of the reading process in the students and that allows strengthening the cerebral circuits and functional routes of reader processing that provide the student with an adequate reading fluency in the present educational stage. With a prospective purpose, a new application of neuropsychological tests is proposed to obtain information after the implementation of the program that may lead to new lines of research.El presente estudio de investigación tiene como objetivo analizar la relación entre la percepción visual, la memoria de trabajo y la fluidez lectora en el proceso lector del alumnado de 1º curso de Educación Primaria. La investigación se efectuó en una muestra de 30 sujetos de primer curso de primaria del centro educativo “El Sitjar” de la población de Linyola, Lérida. Para medir la relación entre las variables, en primer lugar, se subministró la subprueba de velocidad visiomotora del Método de Evaluación de la Percepción Visual FrostigDTVP-2 (Hammill, Pearson, y Voress, 1995). Seguidamente, se valoró la memoria de trabajo mediante la prueba de dígitos de la Escala de Inteligencia de Wechsler para niños -Wisc V (Wechsler, 2015). Finalmente, la fluidez lectora se evaluó con el subtest de lectura del Test de Análisis de Lectoescritura- T.A.L.E - (Toro y Cervera, 2014). Los resultados obtenidos en la correlación de Pearson entre las variables fueron constatados en relaciones inversas entre fluidez lectora y memoria de trabajo, y entre percepción visual y fluidez lectora. En cuanto a la relación entre percepción visual y memoria de trabajo indicaron relación directa, concluyendo, que existe relación entre los sustratos neuropsicológicos en el proceso lector. Asimismo, se fundamentan los resultados a través de una revisión de la literatura científica de programas y estudios teórico-prácticos en relación a las variables investigadas. Finalmente, se propone un programa de intervención neuropsicológica para fortalecer la adquisición del proceso lector en el alumnado y que permita afianzar los circuitos cerebrales y rutas funcionales de procesamiento lector que proporcionen al alumno una adecuada fluidez lectora en la presente etapa educativa. Con una finalidad prospectiva se propone una nueva aplicación de las pruebas neuropsicológicas para obtener información después de la implementación del programa que pueda conllevar nuevas líneas de investigación
