El trabajo por proyectos interdisciplinares mediante el uso de WebQuest

The main goal of this paper is to design, implement and evaluate the use of integrated work by projects through WebQuest as an element to foster motivation in Spanish Language and Literature and in Plastic and Visual Art Education areas applied in 5th Grade of Primary Education. In order to achieve this goal a mixed methodology is used. This methodology combines a theoretical and a practical application and its evaluation. First of all, once the chosen theoretical justification, the problem statement and the goals were set, the following approach was to develop a literature review with the aim of studying the existing bibliography about the importance of acquiring Life Skills during Primary Education, paying special attention to the Learn to Learn Skill. As well, a search on the applicability in Primary Education of the interdisciplinary projects and their theoretical background is carried out. And finally, the process of working through WebQuest, its characteristics and the relationship between the use of WebQuest and the interdisciplinary projects with the students’ motivation are explored. Secondly, the didactic proposal is then exposed; consisting this one on the design of an educative intervention, its application and evaluation, using the WebQuest as a tool in order to perform an interdisciplinary project in 5th Grade of Primary Education. Lastly, once the proposal and its evaluation are developed, the outcome suggests that working by integrated projects through WebQuest becomes a motivational factor for the students who have experienced this methodology on the implemented areas.El objetivo principal de este trabajo es diseñar, implementar y evaluar el uso del trabajo por proyectos integrados mediante WebQuest como factor para fomentar la motivación en Lengua Castellana y Literatura y Educación Visual y Plástica, por parte de los alumnos de Ciclo Superior de Educación Primaria. Para alcanzar este objetivo se utiliza una metodología mixta, que contempla una parte teórica y una parte de aplicación práctica y evaluación. En primer lugar se aborda, a partir de la justificación de la temática escogida, del planteamiento del problema y del establecimiento de los objetivos, una revisión bibliográfica, con la finalidad de estudiar la bibliografía existente sobre la importancia de la adquisición de las competencias básicas durante la Etapa de Educación Primaria, y en concreto de la Competencia de Aprender a Aprender. Se indaga, también, sobre la fundamentación teórica y la aplicabilidad de los proyectos interdisciplinares en Educación Primaria. Finalmente, se explora el proceso de trabajo con WebQuest, las características de éstas y la relación entre el uso de WebQuest y proyectos interdisciplinares con la motivación del alumnado. En segundo lugar se plantea la propuesta didáctica, consistente en el diseño de una intervención utilizando la WebQuest como herramienta para realizar un trabajo de proyecto interdisciplinar en Ciclo Superior de Educación Primaria. También se expone la aplicación y evaluación de esta propuesta. Una vez presentada la propuesta y la evaluación de ésta se aprecia que el uso de un trabajo por proyecto integrado mediante WebQuest se ha percibido como un factor motivador para el alumnado con el que se ha implementado respecto a las áreas trabajadas
