Relación entre la Memoria de Trabajo y la Velocidad Lectora en un grupo de niños y niñas de segundo de primaria

The objective of this studio is the analysys of the relation exist between the working memory and one of the components of reading skill which is the reading speed in a group of 50 students of second grade in elementary school, from a public educative institution, with ages between 6 and 7 years. To measure between variables, it appraises the reading speed through an experimental test of read words in a minute and three subtest of the neuropsychological test battery NEUROPSI Atention and Memory (Ostrosky-Solís et al, 2007), which are useful to appreciate working memory through remind tasks of digits and inverses, so like a memory curve task. The outcomes have got were not significant statis-tically after the fulfillment of a correlation by Pearson to see if exists relation between the studied variables, what to carry out the conclusión, to the selectioned sample there is not significant relation between memory capacity and the reading speed. However, these out-comes can be limited for the kind of showed tasks to measure the working memory varia-ble, thus studies have showed differences in the influence of the memory work according to used measure. Finally it pruposes a program of intervention neuropsychological that allows to improve the working memory capacity and the reaing speed of texts in the selec-ted students.El objetivo de este estudio es el análisis de la relación que existe entre la memoria de trabajo y uno de los componentes de la habilidad de lectura, que es la velocidad lectora, en un grupo de 50 estudiantes de grado segundo de primaria, de una institución educativa pública, con edades comprendidas entre los 6 y 7 años. Para medir la relación entre va-riables, se valoró la velocidad lectora mediante una prueba experimental de palabras leí-das por minuto y tres subtest de la batería neuropsicológica NEUROPSI Atención y Me-moria (Ostrosky-Solís et al, 2007), que sirven para valorar la memoria de trabajo mediante tareas de recuerdo de dígitos directos e inversos, así como una tarea de curva de memo-ria. Los resultados obtenidos no fueron estadísticamente significativos tras la realización de una correlación de Pearson para ver si existe relación entre las variables estudiadas, lo que conduce a la conclusión, de que para la muestra seleccionada no se da relación signi-ficativa entre la capacidad de memoria de trabajo y la velocidad lectora. Sin embargo, es-tos resultados pueden estar limitados por el tipo de tareas elegidas para medir la variable memoria de trabajo, dado que estudios han demostrado diferencias en la influencia de la memoria de trabajo según la medida empleada. Finalmente se propone un programa de intervención neuropsicológica que permita mejorar la capacidad de memoria de trabajo y la velocidad de lectura de textos en los estudiantes seleccionados
