The purpose of this paper is to provide a didactic proposal to foster food, gastronomy and five senses education in pupils attending the Fifth Year of Primary School. Firstly, the theoretical framework highlights the significance of food as a vehicle for values, culture and health and the role of food education to improve alimentary habits. Secondly, a Didactic Unit has been designed, consisting of a range of activities and workshops to be carried out throughout eight sessions, whose aim is to increase the interest of pupils for gastronomy and to foster the acquisition of healthy habits.
