The main goal of the following research work is to encourage participation in the second ESO technology classroom by means of the Interactive Whiteboard (IWB). During the last few years, this ICT tool has strongly burst into high school classrooms, however, when it comes to motivating and involving students, very few teachers take advantage of the great potential this tool offers. For this reason, a previous bibliography review about the incorporation of the ICT in general and of the IWB in particular into the Spanish educational system has been carried out.
