Orpheum Theater

Orpheum Theater- symphony, ballet, concerts, music The Orpheum Theater opened in 1892 as a vaudeville house. That means that variety shows were performed there. The performers sang, danced, and did funny skits. The theater was remodeled, and beginning in 1927 the Orpheum was used for live performances and bands. Later it was used as a movie theater. It closed in 1971. The theater was remodeled again and reopened in 1974. Today the Orpheum is home to the Omaha Symphony. Other special concerts and performances, like ballets, are held there too
