PreludeIt all started in Jerusalem. A day very much like any other for the ethno-musicologist… except that particular day he was to meet, for the first time, with Jewish Ethiopian priests. They had only recently immigrated to Israel and their liturgical chants were still, in 1986, virtually unknown. This had prompted the ethnomusicologist’s interest in this meeting.
