Philip O’Leary’s previous volumes, The Prose Literature of the Gaelic Revival 1881-1921 (1994) and Gaelic Prose in the Irish Free State 1922-1939 (2004), shed light on prose writing in Irish during the revival and its immediate aftermath. His new volume focuses on the following decade in a nine-chapter book which addresses the increasing disillusion of Irish language writers.
