The Centre for Indian Studies in Africa (established in 2010) has two ongoing projects funded by the Mellon Foundation and the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Government of India. We are interested in promoting interdisciplinary and comparative transnational work looking at the connected histories of colonialism, capital, labour, religion and literature across the Indian Ocean as well as post-colonial ideologies and formations in the Global South.
