Mathematics in Mesopotamia: scribe schools

During the Fête de la science 2012, two SAW team members, Cécile Michel and Christine Proust, run a workshop Mathematics in Mesopotamia: scribe schools, intended for secondary school pupils. The participants learnt about the Mesopotamian writing system, learnt the basics of calculation using sexagesimal system, and wrote, with a stylus on fresh clay tablets, their names and multiplication tables
