Papers sought for a 2014 MLA Convention panel on "South Asian Literatures - Without English," sponsored by the Division on Comparative Studies in 20th-Century Literature. While the majority of literature in South Asia is composed in indigenous languages, reception of these literatures (e.g., of India) in North America has focused overwhelmingly on authors who write in English.
