The article focuses on the implications of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. The Iranian model did not succeed outside the country. More over inside, it has been challenged by a growing discontent among the population. Its failure can be seen at the institutional, economical and social levels, not mentioning the international one. As the Islamic utopia showed unrealistic in Iran, society grew disconnected from the State. The confusion of power and religion provoked reactions among the youth, women, artists and intellectuals. In Iran, society takes advantage of every opportunity to express its desire of change and freedom and its opposition to the discriminations that some parts of it are going through. Interestingly, the case of Iran shows a « secularisation from below » which is also unique
